De la terra al plat (From the Earth to the Plate)

De la terra al plat (From the Earth to the Plate) offers an inquiry around ceramic as a raw material, upholding it as an accessible, ecological, durable material. It then reflects on the times it is used and the bond created with objects, and how the characteristics of the materials and processes making them up determine the relationship we forge with them. In this project, the defence of a fondness for objects means gaining awareness of the material used and the experience of its production process: a pottery wheel, a kiln and the utilitarian ceramic item are made and finally given a use. This position stands in contrast to over-production and the abundance of objects with a short shelf life and planned obsolescence.

De la terra al plat is part of a collaboration between Lo Pati. Centre d’Art Terres de l’Ebre and Sala d'Art Jove in 2017.
