Ismael Smith i el Fons d’Armari
 
The project consists in a series of interventions at the National Museum revolving around the figure of Ismael Smith, a late-modern artist who was arrested and imprisoned after a series of scandals sparked by his nudist and sexual proclivities. The project analyses the conditions that determined Smith’s “closeting” in both bohemian circles and Modernista-Noucentista academe, which later endures in the discourse of the museum itself until its protest in the new presentation of modern art.

Museu d'Art de Catalunya, in conjunction with the Sala d’Art Jove of the Government of Catalonia, presents the  intervention project chosen in the Art Jove 2015 call for proposals, Ismael Smith i el Fons d’Armari.
